DESCRIPTIONS OF ARMOR:

We are to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of Peace.

The Shoes worn by the Roman soldier usually was in the form of a sandal. They had thick soles that were studded with small nails to provide stability in hand-to-hand combat. The sandals came up above the ankles and were held securely to the feet by the leather straps.

To survive the severe weather, the soldiers would fill the sandal with heavy wool, wool or fur before tying them up.

The purpose of having our feet shod with the readiness of the Gospel of Peace is to overcome the spirit of rejection, persecution, the spirit of offense, every attack that will put our focus on the problem instead of the problem solver. Satan wants us to think that telling others the Good News is worthless and hopeless; we think that the message will not be received and rejection is too much to handle. Who likes rejection? However, it is selfish to only think of our own feelings and worry about them getting hurt when a person's soul is at stake. The Gospel of Peace that is available in Jesus Christ is GOOD NEWS everyone needs to hear. The peace that surpasses all understanding is only found in Jesus Christ. I am talking about peace when the storm is violent and raging high, when bill collectors are calling and threatening to take or disconnect something, peace when persecuted, peace when your bank account is over drawn, PEACE when your body is wrecked with pain, PEACE when everyone is too busy to listen, the list can go on and on. With Jesus you can keep your PEACE in the midst of the storm.

According to John 14:27, Jesus says, peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. One day when I was deeply hurt by something a loved one said to me, I was driving with tears falling from my eyes. The Spirit of the Lord spoke to me and said, no one can take your peace, but you can give it away. That was a great revelation and turning point for me. Peace is vital to be able to move forward in the things of God. I don't like feeling badly and after realizing that I gave the peace of God away, of course, I snatched it back! Remember, Jesus said, These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world (John 16:33). Snatch your peace back! Paul informs us that our preparation for battle is the Gospel (GOOD NEWS) of Jesus, life, death and resurrection. The work of Jesus on earth brought us peace with God. Being reconcile through Jesus Christ allows us to fight with boldness, confidence, and perseverance with peace.
